Lux is my personal dog and K9 partner. She is a 6-year-old German Shepherd and is a lesson dog for Right Track Canines. When not working as a lesson dog, she is an on-call search and rescue K9.
As a lesson dog, Lux assists in the training process for other dogs. However, her main job is a certified search and rescue K9 for PA Wilderness Search and Rescue PaWSAR). She is certified through both the International Police Work Dog Association and the North American Police Work Dog Association for Wilderness search (live-find).
We have also competed in Search and Rescue sport, which is a two-phase sport consisting of a search (nose-work) phase and an obedience & dexterity phase. Lux has earned multiple titles under the USCA organization hosting this sport: RH1-FL-N (level 1 nose work title), BH/VT (obedience and temperament test), and AD (endurance test).
Lux was also recently cast in a 2023 Indie film called Dog Bites Man and returned in 2025 for re-shoots of additional footage.
Current Titles: IPWDA Certified Wilderness K9, NAPWDA Certified SAR Area Search K9, RH1-FL-N, BH/VT, AD, CGC, TKA, VHMA, ICN1, DPUK-BEFL1.
